Hrih benza korda hayagriva hulu hulu hung phay

Hayagriva (in Sanskrit; Tamdin, in Tibetan; Horse-Necked One in English) is a wrathful aspect of the Buddha of Compassion and is invoked for protection. If the peaceful Buddhas are not successful in helping the sentient beings who are harder to subdue, they compassionately manifest in wrathful forms, like a mother using tough love for her beloved child. Hayagriva has bared fangs and hair standing upright. Driven by his fierce love for sentient beings, he will do whatever it takes to help them subdue their minds and prevent them from harming others and therefore themselves. Recited with compassion, Hayagriva’s mantra is especially powerful for pro-tecting oneself and others from danger and difficulties, and from being harmed by malevolent spirits.
